Precision-Engineered Grinding Head Spindles
Our grinding head spindles are mounted on super-precision, maintenance-free bearings that are completely sealed for long-lasting performance. The rigid castings are specifically engineered to provide maximum stability for both the spindle and bearing assemblies.
Each grinding spindle is directly coupled to a dynamically balanced motor via a shock-absorbing coupling, ensuring smooth operation, minimal vibration, and superior surface finishes—even under the most demanding conditions.
Optimised Lubrication and Smooth Table Movement
To maximise both the lifespan and precision of your Ajax grinder, all slideways are lubricated by an electronically controlled automatic lubrication pump, which distributes oil through metering valves to each lubrication point. This ensures consistent and efficient lubrication across the entire machine.
The worktable movement is driven by a rack and pinion system, while the longitudinal stroke is hydraulically controlled—a combination that delivers smooth, stable motion and results in a superior surface finish.

Options
Feed Options for Every Requirement
All Ajax grinding machines are available with either manual or automatic downfeed. The automatic downfeed system allows for incremental pre-setting, ensuring consistent precision during repetitive operations.
- Machines with the ‘H’ suffix come equipped with automatic longitudinal and cross feed as standard.
- Machines with the ‘HD’ suffix feature automatic downfeed in addition to the standard automatic feeds.
This system provides flexibility to suit a wide range of applications, from manual control to fully automated precision grinding.
